Creating D+G Dental: A comprehensive journey with Medi t Design & Construct

I n the heart of Wyee, NSW, nestled among a small group of shops, a visionwas taking shape. is vision, driven by Dr Kumudika Gunaratne and Dr Eshana De Silva, aimed to create a state-of-the-art dental practice that catered to the local community. To achieve this, the couple partnered with Medi t Design & Construct, a company well versed in crafting healthcare spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. e journey began with the daunting task of site selection, a critical phase where the couple depended heavily on Medi t’s expertise. Medi t’s Marton Jakab provided an in-depth analysis of three di erent locations, laying out the pros and cons of each. e eventual winner was a space

previously occupied by a local supermarket. With its ability to be customised to the speci c needs of the dental practice, this 99 sqm space stood out as the ideal choice. But the role of Medi t did not end with the site selection. Recognising the multifaceted challenges faced by new practice owners, Medi t stepped in to assist with lease negotiations, and established connections with nanciers and equipment suppliers. ey ensured the transition from an empty tenancy to a fully functional dental practice was as smooth as possible, alleviating much of the stress typically associated with such an endeavour. Upon stepping into D+G Dental, the warm, reassuring atmosphere is immediately evident. Clean, modern lines intermingle with neutral tones to create an ambiance of calming professionalism. A grey and white marble reception counter is the focal point of the entrance, serving as a testament to the thoughtfulness infused in every design choice. Tucked behind this elegant reception, a dedicated nook for the practice manager ensures seamless administration and coordination, vital for e cient day-to-day operations.

e practice o ers a spacious waiting area, thoughtfully designed to cater to patients of all ages. e inclusion of a children’s play zone is a nod to the family oriented nature of Wyee community, providing a delightful distraction for the youngest visitors while they wait for their appointments.
